Haul Away Home
This body of work was made for an exhibition at Gallery 2622, in April of 2014. Here, Sasso transforms traditionally rigid forms into sagging caricatures. Moving between function and functionless-ness, rescue devices are rendered useless in their cotton-stuffed form to address the feeling of helplessness Sasso felt when she discovered the body of her neighbor, Fred, and called 911, after his poetic suicide.
